AirFire Mobile believes that wireless should be simple. Our goal is to give you an excellent wireless experience. To make sure you completely understand what AirFire Mobile offers and how our service works, we’ve identified some questions that you might have. Can you unlock my phone?
To get a phone unlocked you need to call the carrier which the phone came from. They may be able to provide the unlock code. We do not have unlock codes for phones from other carriers.
Do I need a credit card to activate service?
No – You do not need a debit or credit card for any plan!
How do I know when I am roaming?
The plan’s home coverage is the AirFire Mobile home network. Your phone will display AirFire Mobile Home while you are on the network and AirFire Plus when you are off the AirFire Mobile network.
Do I need to buy a phone from you to use the service?
No. We operate a GSM network. If you have an unlocked phone from another GSM carrier, all you need to do is purchase a new SIM card.
Am I allowed to call Canada from my phone?
Calling to Canada, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and Guam for your service area is included in our long distance. If you roam to Canada you will be charged 25¢ per minute(s), to be taken out of Travel Time.
What is Travel Time?
Think of Travel Time as a checking account. You make a deposit in your Travel Time and each time you roam, or use directory assistance, money is taken from the balance.
Can I connect a unlocked handset to AirFire Mobile?
You can connect a unlocked GSM 1900/850 MHZ phone to our network. Other carriers that use our frequency are TMobile & AT&T. Sprint, Verizon, Boost, Cricket, US Cellular, and Sprint phones are not compatible. If you are purchasing a GSM Unlocked phone we suggest that the handset is also Unbranded. Unbranded means that it does not have carrier settings set up on the phone.
How do I connect my Android device to WiFi?
You can access a hotspot by configuring your phone to connect to it. Press Menu and touch settings. Touch Wireless & networks, WiFi settings and check WiFi to turn it on. The phone will scan for available WiFi networks and displays the names of the networks. If the phone finds a network that you connect to previously, it connects to it automatically. If it is your first time connecting to the network you will have to click on the available network.
What are the Android network settings for the internet?
Press the menu key on the home screen, then go to Settings/Wireless & networks/Mobile networks/access point names. Touch the menu button followed by New APN. Insert the following settings, Name: AirFire, APN: internet.air.net, MMSC: http://mms.airfiremobile.com/+1(your 10 digit number), MCC: 310, MNC: 640 and the rest is blank. Touch the menu button and select Save. When the phone goes back to the APN screen make sure to select the circle button next to the APN name so that it turns green.
How do I extend my Androids battery's life between charges?
You can extend your battery's life between charges by tuning off features that you don't need. Us the power control bar to check and control the status of your phone features.
